Compound vs recurve for a beginner?

New to archery and can't decide between a compound bow and a recurve. Want something for target practice and maybe deer hunting later. Thoughts?

Start with a compound — easier to be accurate and you can hunt with it.

Recurve is more traditional and fun, but has a steeper learning curve.

Get a bow shop to set you up. Draw length and weight matter a lot.
